Some Things To Know...
*Date: WEDNESDAY ~ NOVEMBER 12, 2008
*Everyone in attendance should dress up. Skirts are not required for the girls and ties are not required for the guys but your dress should be nice. Please no jeans.
*Students will report directly to the cafeteria or auditorium the morning of the field trip. The RV Chorus Boosters will be providing donuts and milk for breakfast.
*Departure from the high school will be at approximately 9:15.
*All main course lunch items and ticket for the show are included in the price you have paid. You will also receive a small cup of ice cream for dessert. If you would like to order an appetizer or large dessert, you will need extra money. In addition, some of the main courses are worth more money than we paid. These items would have an additional fee of a few dollars listed beside it in the menu. You would need extra money to cover this cost if you should choose one of these items.
*Bus and seating assignments are complete. Please be sure to check the lists.
*TOTAL COST FOR THE TRIP WILL BE $65.10 per person. Final payment due date is NOV 3rd. If you do not know how much you currently have in your account, please check with Mrs McIntire.
*Village Pizza Ticket Money is due also by NOV 3rd. Profit is $2 for each ticket sold. Please figure this into your account balance and the money that you owe for the trip.
*We will be returning back to the high school at approximately 7pm.

District Chorus
Thank you to the dozen or so of you who auditioned for the District Chorus Festival. I know it can be quite intimidating to sing alone but I'm proud of you for taking a shot anyway!
The selection process will take place on October 29.
Some things to keep in mind...
*Redbank is required to take at least 4 students to the festival.
*The most students Redbank has taken is 7.
*We have a bit of an advantage this year because 2 of our students get to return automatically because they did so well last year.
*If you don't make it through the selection process, please don't think its because you don't deserve a chance to go...just know that the numbers are limited and that makes it very difficult to get everyone in.
GOOD LUCK :)

Field Trip Information
A final count for this trip will be given to Carousel Dinner Theatre on October 14. Once this number is given to them, we will be required to pay the balance of our tickets. If anyone cancels after that time, we will not receive a refund. If something comes up and you can not go, hopefully you can find someone to take your spot so that you don't lose your money.
In addition, once we know for sure the number of people going on the trip, we can accurately schedule charter buses to get us there. The amount of those buses will be divided by the number going. Therefore, after next week, I should be able to give you an exact total for the trip. Please note that it will most likely be between $65 - $70.
The RV CHORUS Handbook states that students wishing to attend any field trip must maintain at least a B in class. The end of the 1st 9 weeks is somewhere around October 29. Anyone receiving less than a B on his/her report card will not be permitted to go to Carousel. If you have questions about classroom participation and grading, please refer to the Handbook.

Still Deciding About the Field Trip?
If you still aren't sure about whether to go to the Carousel Dinner Theatre, here are some thoughts for you...
*If you are worried about missing school - check with your teachers at least one day before the trip to see what you will miss. You may be able to get some of the work done ahead of time. If you can read while in a vehicle, you may be able to get some of your reading done on the bus ride - it will be a 2 hour trip.
*If you are worried about money - try out the first fund-raiser later this month. Maybe you'll surprise yourself and make a decent amount of money. If - once that fund-raiser is over - you decide you'd like to go, just let me know and I will add you to the list. A final number will need to be given to the Theatre by the middle of October.
*If you just don't know if you want to go - ask anyone that's been there how fun it is. Its a great time to have a great meal and see a fun show. The theatre is not too big so all of the seats are good!
Keep in mind that you must maintain at least a B in class in order to go on the field trip!

Did You See the EBAY link over there?
Its true! You can shop at Ebay AND raise money for the RV Chorus at the same time. All you need to do is click the link to the right of the screen and make your bids on Ebay. That's all you need to do. You don't have to do anything special once you get to Ebay's website. But remember...you can not go directly to Ebay and then find the chorus to get the profit. You need to go to Ebay through the link on this Blog site.
Don't need anything on Ebay yourself? Send a link to this Blog to your family and friends and maybe they would like to help us out. Note that there are no additional fees - payment for your Ebay item will be the same as if you just went to the site direclty.
Happy Bidding!

Carousel Dinner Theatre
So - why are we raising money anyway?
On November 12, 2008, approximately 80 students from the RV Chorus will be attending a show at the Carousel Dinner Theatre in Akron Ohio.

This theatre provides for a great place to have a wonderful dinner and see a Broadway musical all at the same time. The chorus has been traveling to Carousel for several years now and everyone always enjoys their time there. The trip lasts a full day and will cost each student and chaperone approximately $65.

The show we will see this year is entitled ALL SHOOK UP, a sizzling, energetic musical told through more than 24 of the greatest Elvis Presley songs.
